As Neeraj Chopra prepares to start his 2025 season at the Doha Diamond League, the spotlight is on his fitness and the influence of his coach, Jan Zelezny. Speaking before the men’s javelin event, Chopra revealed that he is feeling more confident than ever because he has not missed a single throwing session — a major improvement from the injury troubles he faced last year.
Previously, Chopra had been struggling with a groin injury that limited his ability to train and compete fully. After winning a silver medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024, he admitted that the injury kept him from performing at his peak, often going weeks with just one proper throwing session due to the fear of aggravating the injury.
Now, however, Chopra says the issue is behind him. In Doha, he appeared relaxed and cheerful, even joking about the challenges of shooting ads and tactfully addressing questions about his Pakistani rival Arshad Nadeem. But above all, Chopra emphasized that being pain-free and consistent in training is what truly matters this season.
